Averlina Elvason is a playwright, screenwriter, novelist, poet and political scientist. She explores decolonial art, commemorative lament, new and experimental forms of theatre, including digital theatre and digital art, as well as the phenomenon of escape as a political manifesto through her artistic practice. During her residency, she will be working on her research book on escapism in modern media spaces. She hopes to reflect her experience of 'escaping' from reality to a castle through a series of essays and poetic texts as part of her personal research.
